At Amata, we pride ourselves on our ability to connect clients with aligned interests, and to support causes that are important to our members and the greater business community.
Below are two upcoming events our company is involved with, both of which are open to Amata members that want to participate.
Oct. 8: CASA of Cook County – “There’s No Place Like Home: 2015 Cocktails for CASA” Fundraiser
On October 8, Amata will sponsor Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Cook County’s annual fundraiser, the proceeds of which benefit the organization’s youth advocacy programs for abused and neglected children in foster care.
“There are approximately 5,600 children in Cook County’s foster care system, and with CASA’s current resources, we’re only able to provide advocacy services to about 7 percent of them,” said Mark Dinglasan, executive director of CASA of Cook County. “The generous support from Amata and other corporate sponsors will help us achieve our goal of increasing the number of volunteers we can provide to abused and neglected children in the Cook County foster care system.”
CASA of Cook County, the largest of 36 CASA programs throughout the state of Illinois, recruits, trains and supervises community volunteers who advocate for the best interests of children in court and help place them in safe, permanent homes. Unlike caseworkers and other child welfare professionals, CASA volunteers handle only one case at a time, allowing them to give each child the attention they need and deserve.
CASA’s work translates to results. National studies have shown that children who receive the non-profit organization’s services are 95 percent less likely to reenter the child welfare system. Last year alone, CASA of Cook County volunteers donated a total of 10,684 hours, representing a $1.17 million savings to the state.

Oct. 5-Nov. 18: Amata/Single Path Food Drive
Starting Oct. 5, Amata will be competing in a six-week food drive against Lombard-based Single Path to see which company can donate the most items to their local food bank ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
The friendly competition, in which each donated item will count as a “point” for the respective company will run through Nov. 16.
All food donated by the Amata team will be sent to the Greater Chicago Food Depository, while Single Path’s contributions will benefit the Northern Illinois Food Bank.
